The partnership between TSC Football Academy and Ramsgate Football Club has continued to blossom with 3 of our coaches and a handful of Academy players being a part of the squad who recently progressed to the next round of the FA Youth Cup.

Last night, the young Rams put on a superb display, showcasing their talent and determination as they triumphed over Sittingbourne with a well-earned 1-0 victory in the FA Youth Cup. The match was a testament to the hard work and discipline of the team, who delivered a performance that was both gritty and composed. From the first whistle, it was clear that the Rams were here to make a statement. The players demonstrated a level of maturity and tactical awareness, pressing high up the pitch and maintaining a solid defensive shape. The midfield was particularly impressive, dictating the tempo of the game and linking play with a fluidity that kept Sittingbourne on the back foot for much of the match.

There were several passages of play where the young Rams exhibited great football, moving the ball with precision and purpose. The team’s build-up play was a joy to watch, with clever passes and quick transitions that carved open the opposition’s defence. However, despite their dominance, the Rams were unable to convert many of the chances they created. The scoreline could have easily been more comfortable, but a lack of killer instinct in front of goal meant the game remained tight until the final whistle.

The goal coming from F. Bough that secured the victory, came after a sustained period of pressure and a fantastic finish from our left winger. Defensively, the Rams were resolute, rarely allowing Sittingbourne a sight of goal. The backline was well-organized and dealt with everything that came their way special mentions to H. Smith, M. Buckingham, L. Price & D. Matemba. While the goalkeeper D. Bough was alert to any potential threats and dealt with all opposition chances superbly. It was a disciplined performance from the entire team, who showed maturity beyond their years in managing the game and seeing out the win.

Looking ahead, the Rams can now anticipate their next challenge in the competition, with the upcoming round scheduled for the week commencing 16th September. The team will no doubt be eager to build on this victory and continue their journey in the cup.
